Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner | Veteran | Compassionate Caregiver
My name is Francis Okafor, and I’m the founder and lead provider at Focus Medical and Mental Healthcare Inc. My journey into psychiatric care began with a deep desire to serve others.
In 1997, I came to the United States from Nigeria, and by 2001, I joined the U.S. Army National Guard (serving both Kansas and Missouri), where I worked as a Medic for 8 years. My military service shaped my values of dedication, empathy, and discipline—qualities I now bring into my mental health practice.
After my time in the military, I pursued a career in nursing, ultimately earning my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University in 2020, specializing as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
With several years of hands-on experience in psychiatric care, I’ve had the privilege of helping clients from all walks of life navigate their mental health journey with dignity, trust, and hope.
